During the Centenary Mayor’s Beach Picnic held 31 March 2010, a variety of much loved Teddy Bears (with many childhood stories) were very kindly donated by members of the community.  

Today, members of the Centenary Committee (Ingrid Ashwin, Diane Duncan and Brian Blumrick) joined Mayor Shusha and Deputy Mayor Johnny de Wet at a crèche in Masenenga where the Teddy Bears and a goody bag filled with sweeties were distributed to the children.

The children showered us with love as we arrived, running into our arms with warm hugs, sat on our laps and sang much practiced songs.  

It was a beautiful morning.
