LOCAL CRAFTERS SHOWCASE : AN EXCITING INTERVENTION TO OFFER TOURISTS AUTHENTIC LOCALLY CRAFTED PRODUCTS. On the 20th May crafters are invited to display their local crafts. This is part of an initiative of the Margate Centenary to offer the informal traders on Margate Beach access to beautiful tourist friendly products.
The Ugu District Municipality and The Hibiscus Coast Municipality are embarking on an initiative to source locally crafted products for distribution and resale by the informal traders, offering a tourist product that will be commercially successful for the informal traders and crafters alike. The purpose is to create sustainable outlets for our local crafters and to offer our informal traders access to products that will be highly sought after by visitors to Margate. Products should be unique, authentic and appealing to national and international visitors. Crafters are invited to showcase their products to the informal traders, DATE 20th May 2010 TIME 09h00 until 15h00 Margate Beach Amphitheatre. This showcase is also open to the public wishing to view local crafts for their promotions, corporate gifts and decorating. For further information contact Ingrid on 083 228 7440. We look forward to embracing the unique skills and creativity in our district. |
